Kara Palumbo

Kara Palumbo, MS

As Co-owner of KD Outsource, LLC, Kara specializes in HR Consulting in a variety of industries including manufacturing, technology, health care and non-for-profits. She has over twenty years of HR generalist experience, as well as formal training and education in Human Resources Management.

Kara’s areas of expertise include benefits, compensation, compliance, organizational development, engagement, recruiting, HR compliance audits, employment investigations and payroll. Her approach includes continuous solicitation of input from employees while ensuring strategic business needs are met. She has developed and implemented benefit strategies that have significantly lowered costs while maintaining quality benefits. She has designed performance measurement tools through engagement with staff while tying it to organizational goals. She takes great pride in guiding senior level leaders toward the recognition that showing genuine care and concern for their employees results in happier, more productive staff and greater retention of these valued assets.

Kara was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Dr. Paul Kazmierski Memorial Award at RIT presented in conjunction with the School of International Hospitality & Service Innovation and its Alumni Society. This award recognizes attributes such as risk taking, accepting challenges and entrepreneurial spirit. She was nominated by faculty of the School and officers of the Alumni Society. 

Kara was honored to hold the role of Co-Director of Marketing on the Board of the local chapter of the National Human Resource Association (NHRA) for three years. 

Kara’s holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Career and Human Resource Development from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Daniel Roland, MBA, CPIM

Dan is a Co-owner of KD Outsource, LLC. He has 35 years of domestic and international manufacturing and logistics experience. This includes plant construction & start up, JV’s, production line relocation, and business turnaround embracing lean manufacturing processes.  He is a hands-on manager with experience in operations & logistics both domestic and international. This includes Asia (China, India and Vietnam) covering sourcing, JV & Contract manufacturing including manufacturing start-ups. He has also worked in Mexico, Central America and South America. Industry experience includes high voltage electrical & electronic products including engineered products, metal fabrication, molding, and ceramics, to consumer products for end retailers including Target and Wal-Mart.

Dan’s educational resume includes degrees in Electronic Engineering, Business Administration, and, most recently, an MBA from Winthrop University. He is also an APICS certified, CPIM.
